Our shared code of conduct
The summit brings together people from many backgrounds — practitioners, researchers, peers and people with lived and living experience. We want everyone to feel safe, welcome and respected. By joining us, you agree to help make that happen.
What we expect
- Treat everyone with respect, whatever their role, background or experience.
- Listen properly, especially to people speaking from lived and living experience.
- Use language that is non-stigmatising and person-first.
- Ask before photographing, filming or recording anyone.
- Respect confidentiality — what is shared in a room stays in that room.
What is not okay
- Harassment, intimidation or discrimination of any kind.
- Stigmatising language about people who use drugs.
- Sharing anyone's personal information or images without consent.
- Disruptive behaviour that stops others taking part.
Reporting a problem
If something happens, speak to any member of summit staff — they will be wearing summit lanyards — or contact us directly. Reports are taken seriously and handled discreetly.
Contact us through the form and we will respond as soon as we can.
Consequences
Organisers may take any action they consider appropriate, including asking someone to leave the summit without a refund.
